What is there to say about CHILDREN OF BODOM which has not yet been said? They have songs and skills? What very few even come close to what the COB Done? Whether they are state of the art? Over the past six years or more, the group that darted to international fame with their debut, 1997's "Something Wild", which was "this amazing band from Finland" to a name in the metal scene. And that, of course, is obvious given the intensity, the sheer quality of their equipment and the execution flawless. Make no mistake, CHILDREN OF BODOM not playing around. They are there to kill.
Pathways short of murder, it did not take long for Spinefarm Records to find out what they had in their hands when the group presented their demo to the label back to the end of 1996. Three spins "Deadnight Warrior" later, the band was signed and ready to knock some heads ... Somewhat earlier (-97), COB Volait the whole of Europe and writing new material that would become the "Hatebreeder" Album. Finland has for years been a fantastic breeding ground for music metal. The fact that CHILDREN OF BODOM's four singles were # 1 in the Finnish single charts and breached the limit of the gold record status only goes to prove. The single "Hate Me!" Is even went as far as platinum.that prove they are has skill as heavy metal band
After recording "Follow The Reaper" Peter T? Gtgren the infamous Abyss Studio, the group decided to return to the loving arms of a COBHC trustee, Anssi Kippo, and the entrails of Astia Studio. The result is simply amazing. Not only did the group took their songs to new levels of aggressiveness and cumbersome, but the way the songs are performed pummels everything they-or anyone else, for that matter-have done in the dust. Alexi Laiho spit his words with vitriolic hatred, the guitars (courtesy of Alexi and Alexander Kuoppala) shred everything in their wake with a razor precision while rhythmsection (duo demolition Henkka Blacksmith & T. W. Jaska Raatikainen) As off-the-books the world is about to end. As a final coup grac? Keyboards come from Janne Warman, so that the path of destruction is complete with fervor and the precision of an executioner seasoned cooked on a murder.
