Five piece hails from Orange County, California, depends on each of Pantera, Metallica and Iron Maiden to Bad Religion, Misfits, Guns N Roses and NOFX. In addition, guitarist Synyster Gates (invited musicians from the Institute of Technology) and the rest of A7X confess a fondness for prog-metal musos Dream Theater and the experimental rock group, Mr. Bungle.
Avenged Seven formed when its members were still in high school. As explained M. Shadows, "made our first record [" sensing Seventh Trumpet "], as we were 18 years ago." Since then, they have removed their way home, hooking with metal acts such as Shadows Fall and Mushroomhead and leaving their impressions on the year 2003 Vans Warped Tour.
