Mudvayne bio

Label:

Heavy metal quartet Mudvayne formed in Peoria, IL, in 1996, its members adopting the unusual pseudonyms Kud (C. Gray) (vocal), Gurrg (G. Tribbett) (guitar), and sPaG (M. McDonough) (battery ). The original bassist of the group was replaced after two years by Ryknow (Ryan Martinie). Always concerned about the visual aspect of their performances, the band developed bizarre stage identities, as their sound (called "math metal" in an attempt to explain its intricacies) had little in common with most of its peers. Characterized by the regime challenging and with influences ranging from new wave to electro-metal, the result was an attractive mixture of staccato riffing, raging vocals and electronica with jazzy flourishes. Despite great reviews in the press, Mudvayne has seemed to have a roll of Slipknot follower. Both wearing make-up and use many pseudonyms. But, considering the circumstances, Mudvayne has been a major draw in metal festivals and tours. Mudvayne achieved fame by launching his sophomore album, LD. 50. (LD 50 refers to the countdown to pharmacological doses lethal) Through good reviews and valid record sales, the band has a sequence of its own.
